Banana Cake x2

Today in food tech we made banana cake, again. We had to make it again because we weren't following the instructions on how to make it. But, I think it is good to make so we could get better and making it. 

The method was to :
Step 1 = Heat the oven 180 degrees Celcius 
Step 2 = Mash the banana cake in a silver bowl with a fork 
Step 3 = Cream 3tbsp of butter with 1 cup of sugar 
Step 4 = Add 1 egg, 1/2 c of milk, 1 tsp vanilla essence 
Step 5 = add 1/2 c of SR flour, 1 tsp baking soda and add the mashed banana
-mix well, pour into a lining baking tin for 20 mins 

Macaroni cheese

Today my partner Adrienne and I were cooking macaroni and cheese as we were cooking we have
learned that next time we have to cook and listen to the teacher and work as a team. Also, do not come
late because we won't be able to cook and it's wasting our time.

What we used for cooking was…

Step 1 - Boil Macaroni with 2 ½ c of cold water

Until it is soft

• Drain With cold water using the colander

Step 2 - White Sauce

1 - Fry the onion until it is soft with 2 tbsp

Of butter.

• Add 1 ½ cup of plain flour stir for 5mins
• Add 2 cups of milk + water until it is thick

Like gravy from KFC

• Add Macaroni and top it up with cheese

Chicken Stir Fry

Today we are going to be cooking Chicken Stir Fry. We had to first needed to get what we needed by following the steps properly and carefully. My classmate and I were buddies to make the food that was instructed for us to make.

Step 1 : Slice and dice the chicken
Step 2 : Slice and dice the onion
Step 3 : Fry the chicken and onion with oil
Step 4 : Dice the carrot, slice the zucchini and mushroom. Then add to the frying pan and stir for 10 minutes. Add 1/4 of flour

Then it is ready to eat. Sadly, it didn't work out the way it was purpose to be. But we tried our best.

Science

For the first term in science, it has been a good time in class learning about different things throughout the weeks.We first learnt about the rules in a science laboratory to keep us safe, especially when working with different chemicals. Also, learning the different equipment we use.

Science Safety Rules:

Don't put your bag anywhere but under the table

Don't eat or drink 

Don't play or run 

Tie up your hair when it is long or out

 Then we learnt about the Earths Layers. There are crust, mantle, inner core and the outer core. We had to find and learn how hot or cold the layers are, the thickness and what it is made of. 

When we have finished learning about it, we moved onto learning about volcanoes and there eruptions. Even we had a experiment using baking soda, food colouring and vinegar. Also, the plates and the plate boundary like the transform boundary, convergent boundary and lastly the divergent boundary.    

I enjoyed finding out new information that you didn't know in Science. 

Athletics

 

These past few weeks we have been working hard on athletics. We are going to be running the relays,  100,  200 and 400 metre run. 

I really enjoyed athletics because I like running so much and sports, too.  Also, athletics inter-school is coming soon on Wednesday 5th November. I can't wait but it is going to get tiring with all the running.

🎄Christmas Crossover🎅

This week we are having Christmas Crossover. We are going to be separated into nine groups and in each group a St Kent student is in it. We have a lot of people in our group and it is going to be hard for the seniors to make the juniors listen and do the right thing. I think it will be very interesting because there are going to be different activities for each group.  

Littering

My inquiry group including, Ana, Jessica, Malia and me, made a presentation and survey for our class. It is about litter, how there is rubbish everywhere and a lot of other interesting information. 

Then, when we were finished we did a survey about litter. I was amazed by the results that we received from them.  

I believe, no one should litter because it is ruining our country.
