Learning about Body Image in Health

In health, we have been learning about body image and how we can focus on body positivity rather than the negative things. Body Image is how you look and feel about yourself and your body.  When we develop positive body image we can become more confident and our self-esteem will grow. We also have been learning about body neutrality. It is about focusing more on other exciting things in life rather than your body. 
We have been learning about how we can be influenced by social media and other influences and how it can impact ourselves and others in a positive and negative way, on our well-being. We looked at many different types of advertisements, magazines and videos about how they influence people in society to question their looks and their self worth and esteem. We learnt how their well-being was affected negatively. 

We also looked at how people can care and cherish their bodies, their body image and how they look to themselves and others. It was interesting to see that when looking at magazines and advertisements, that they can be positive and negative to others. However because they are trying to make money, the companies aim is to make us feel bad about ourselves so we buy there product. Therefore advertisements are mostly negative for us. 

I believe that people should learn about body image, body positivty and body neutrality. This will allow people to know what is going throughout the world and in their own minds and heart. It also allows people to be aware that you don’t have to please other people because you want to fit in. If you want to change your body then do it for yourself. And if you don't want to change your body, then that's good too. You should also try to love yourself through looking after your mental health because it is very important and good for your well-being.
